"ZED" began in the pages of the Carrollton Free Standard and soon was signed to a small newspaper syndicate. As the deal began to fizzle Zed began to appear in more weekly newspapers.

Reader requests saw to the formation of Corkey Comics, ensuring that their beloved comic strip would always be avaliable in print.

Zed has been nominated for the prestigious Ignatz Award and has been hailed as a "whimsical addition to the funnies".
